Vehicle History
The diminutive iQ started its life as pint-sized concept car at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show.

It was so impressive that it entered production the following year and was introduced as the Toyota iQ at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show, initially only available in Japan and Europe during 2008 and 2009. It won Japanese Car of the Year in 2008.

After making a name for itself in the eastern part of the world, it was only a matter of time before it reached the western continents. It was introduced as the Scion iQ Concept at the 2009 New York Auto Show, and won the hearts of many drivers in metropolitan areas who have always wanted a city car that could conquer the parking spots as much as the road.
The following year, the production version of the Scion iQ was revealed at the 2010 New York Auto Show, and its anticipated arrival at Scion dealerships was formally announced. Unfortunate delays caused by man and nature hampered the Scion iQ's release, but as our saying goes, you can never put a good car down.
The 2012 Scion iQ goes on sale in a gradual rollout in the United States, starting with the West Coast in December of 2011.
